Susan Munro has represented global clients for more than 25 years while practicing at the Hong Kong Bar and as a Registered Foreign Lawyer for U.S. law firms in Hong Kong and mainland China. She has extensive experience of various areas of legal practice, including international arbitration, international regulatory compliance, white collar crime and cross-border investigations, and trade and investment matters.  In her arbitration practice, she has represented clients in cross-border arbitrations administered by the ICC, the LCIA, the HKIAC and the SIAC involving China, Hong Kong and U.S. matters, and has sat as an arbitrator in bilingual disputes administered under ICC rules.
 

Ms. Munro has near-native Chinese language capability and has earned undergraduate degrees and diplomas in Chinese from universities in London and Shanghai.  She was based in Shanghai from 2001 to 2010 and in Beijing from 2010 to 2020, where she headed up the office of a US law firm.  Ms. Munro has been ranked by Chambers Partners Global: Corporate Investigations/Anti-Corruption: China from 2015 to 2020, by Chambers Partners Asia-Pacific: Corporate investigations/Anti-Corruption: China from 2012 to 2021, and by Chambers Partners, Greater China Region: Corporate investigations/Anti-Corruption: China from 2022 to 2025.  Additionally, she has been ranked in Lexology Index 2025 (formerly Who’s Who Legal), Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR – Arbitration; and China Business Law Journal, The A-List 2025-2026: Visionaries.
